Metrix Vibration Transducers
Metrix seismic transmitters make ideal vibration transmitters for any high-end vibration detection applications where a Distributed Control System (DCS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), or other automation system is implemented in the place of a traditional, stand-alone vibration monitor.

Metrix provides seismic transmitters and other monitoring solutions for various environmental conditions and applications. Our catalog of products offers a range of operating temperatures, scale factors, frequency responses, connector types, case materials, mounting options, hazardous area conditions, and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) ratings. Because the output of a seismic transmitter is directly linked to the amplitude of the vibrations being monitored, these devices go far beyond a traditional vibration switch that can only detect vibrations on a binary level (on-off). ST5484E Velocity Transmitter
The ST5484E is a loop-powered vibration transmitter and signal conditioner that offers reliable consistent outputs, at the accuracy level your condition monitoring system needs, without requiring additional signal conditioning circuitry. This sensor is often used in hazardous areas and offers a SIL rating. It is highly accurate and the standard for the industry. It’s perfect for rolling element bearing machines and reciprocating machines.
Extension Cables
A typical proximity system includes proximity probe, extension cable and an oscillator demodulator. In a Metrix proximity system, the oscillator demodulator can take the form of a driver with a voltage output to a monitoring system, or a transmitter with a 4-20mA output to a control system. A key part of the proximity system is the extension cable. The extension cable allows the proximity probe to be connected to the oscillator demodulator. This gives flexibility to the installation. Standard extension cables are 4, 4.5, 6, 6.5, 8, and 8.5 meter cables. Metrix accommodates other sizes, as well, for standard 5, 7 and 9 meter systems.
